Shower water costs about €2.11 per room night in a hotel, water and heating included: 150 L of hot water per occupied room, €4.37/m³ for water and €9.67/m³ for heating. For 40 rooms at 80% occupancy, the shower bill reaches nearly €24,600 a year, with no visibility shower by shower. In four and five star hotels, consumption climbs to 323 L of water per person per night across all uses (French DGE, 2024).

Across 3,140 showers analysed over 8 months, the Molleaumètre cut consumption by 23% per shower on average, from 45 L to 34.7 L, by up to 61% among the heaviest users, and by 15.5% on the building's main meter.
